The lower section of Los Quetzales Trail transects through the Bajo Mono forest area and is one of the more popular trails in Boquete. Accompanied by a Certified Interpretive & Naturalist Guide, one follows an ascending trail along the Caldera River. After approx. 2 hours of hiking you reach the stunning view-point called La Roca.

Here, on a clear day one can see all the way to the Caribbean and the whole area of cloud forest bordering Bocas del Toro and Talamanca mountain range. Plan your departure from Boquete town at 8:30AM and you can enjoy a picnic lunch at La Roca. AND, if one is lucky you may catch a glimpse of the Resplendent Quetzal, which inhabit the area.
